Placement
Wind naturally speeds up as it travels over the edge of a roof. Normally turbines have to be built far up in the air to capture enough energy to displace their costs, but we leverage this speed up to build smaller, cheaper turbines that are integrated into the architecture of the building.
Market
The market already exists. Edge of roof turbines take up space that solar panels cannot utilize, so solar installers would gain additional revenue streams by offering wind along with solar.
Design
Our turbines come with patent-pending airfoils which passively increase the wind speed and allow for increased power production compared to competitve turbines. We’ve designed these airfoils alongside scientists at Argonne National Lab to be effective and affordable.
